E. T. A. Hoffmann had many different haircuts during his career. He was widely known as a world-class composer, judge, caricaturist, painter, children's writer, writer, conductor, screenwriter, draughtswoman, poet lawyer, science fiction writer, novelist and music critic. Nevertheless, the German Romantic author was mainly known for his unique sense of fashion and his likable personality.
